A Tale of Two Cards

Harry was issued his first ID card after he graduated from Officer Candidate School
at Fort Knox, but he lost the darn thing overseas. When the 737th Amphibian Tractor Battalion landed at Boston the Army insisted on issuing a replacement card.

Shortly thereafter, the original was located in Germany and returned to Harry's home in Fort Smith AR, while he was on leave waiting to report to Fort Ord CA.

Unfortunately his wallet was bare. He didn't mine losing the money but he hated to lose that French Postcard depicting Lilli Marlene unter das Lampenlicht with a German Soldier.
