Havlat trained with the 803rd Tank Destroyer Battalion at
Fort Hood Texas

Charley had two brothers in the service
Adolph and Rudolph

Rudolph was also a member of the 803rd
but in a different company

both brothers visited the temporary grave
prepared for Charley in Wallern

the building behind the Havlat brothers
has been modernized in recent years

Charley now has a permanent grave at the
Saint Avold Cemetery
(near Metz France)
